Police investigating attempted kidnapping of UC Merced Student

The Merced Police Department is investigating an attempted kidnapping of a UC Merced student.

On October 1st, 2019, at approximately 1:41 PM Merced Police Department officers were dispatched to the 3800 block of San Jose Avenue where a UC Merced student reported that she was the victim of an attempted kidnapping.

The victim reported that a vehicle pulled up next to her and three Hispanic males attempted to grab her and drag her into the vehicle.

She stated that she was able to get away and run back into her apartment.

The victim stated that the suspects left the area, driving southbound on San Jose Avenue. Merced Police is investigating and no arrests have been made.
