On October 22, 2019, shortly before 10:30 am, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office received a call for service reporting a possible deceased individual who was located at a rural agricultural property in the southern part of Madera County.

Upon arrival at the scene, deputies located a person who was confirmed deceased. Due to the disposition of the body, Detectives responded to the area to conduct a thorough investigation.

Based on evidence found at the scene, police believed the decedent may be a Hispanic female juvenile who was reported missing out of Madera County last week.

Following an autopsy that took place on October 25, the decedent was positively identified as 16- year-old Josephine Jimenez of Madera.
