Update:  Mason, the missing juvenile has been located and is safe and unharmed with his family.  The investigation led to finding Mason inside a van on the school property.  Mason found an unlocked van, climbed inside and locked the doors and hid from school staff.  Again, Mason is safe and back with his family.

MISSING AT RISK PERSON:

The Merced County Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for a 10-year old-Special needs child who walked away from Joe Stefani Elementary School in the Beachwood Area.

The juvenile, identified as Mason Drury, is an autistic student at the school last seen wearing a grey sweatshirt and grey sweatpants. He has brown hair, brown eyes, about 4 foot 8 inches tall, weighing about 80 pounds.

Mason was seen around 10:20 a.m. at the school. If you see Mason or have any information about him, please contact the Merced County Sheriff’s Office at 209-385-7445.
