Merced Police officer retires after serving the Merced Community for 22-years

The Merced Police Department announced today that Officer Miguel Gallegos, badge #110, is retiring after 22 years of dedicated service to the Police Department and the citizens of Merced.

Officer Gallegos came to the City of Merced in 1998, after serving 8 years as a U.S. Marine Reserve.

During his time as a Marine, he served in Operation Desert Storm, deploying to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

At the Merced Police Department Officer Gallegos served as a Field Training Officer for 13 years and he was on the Crisis Negotiations Team for 5 years.
