The Merced Sheriffs Department responded to McConnell State Park today for a report of a man who went into the water and never came back out.

The man was found later down the shoreline, CPR was performed but the man was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to Deputy Allen.

The man’s identity was not immediately available no further information was provided.
