On March 10th, 2018, at around 5:35P.M. Merced CHP dispatch received a call reporting A Jumper from southbound highway 99. The incident occurred at 15th Street under the Highway 99 bridge.

When CHP arrived they found a man in his mid 20’s with a pulse on the side-walk, Riggs ambulance arrived and paramedics started live-saving efforts with no success, He was pronounced deceased on scene.

According to CHP a witness said the man was running slow lane, when he jumped off the bridge.
