On May 13th, 2018, The Merced Police Department responded to R Steet and Buena Vista for a fatal hit and run. The Victim Joe Lang DOB 9/26/49 was struck and killed by a 2009 Toyota
Tacoma.

The responsible fled the scene. Officer Craig McKeeman of the Merced Police Department Traffic Division conducted the investigation. On January 3rd, 2019 the suspect identified as Sean Ryan Lambert-Diaz DOB 1/9/1989 was booked at the Merced County Jail for Felony Hit and Run and Vehicular Manslaughter.
