MAN ARRESTED FOR BREAKING INTO, NORTH MERCED HOMES

 

On Monday April 2, 2018, Merced Police Department Detectives Moses Nelson and John Pinnegar began investigating a series of residential burglaries that occurred in North Merced. The burglaries were occurring during the night while the victims were sleeping. The suspect in each of the cases was making entry into the homes through an unlocked window. Once in the residence, the suspect was taking a variety of items including electronics, and other personal belongings such as credit cards and social security cards.

Detective Nelson took the lead in the case and he was able to identify the suspect in the residential burglaries as 19-year-old Kobe Maynard, Detectives served a search warrant at Maynard’s home. In the home, Detectives located stolen property from three residential burglaries. The burglaries had occurred between April 1st and April 9th. During an interview with Detective Nelson, Maynard admitted to committing several burglaries in North Merced. Maynard was booked into Merced County Jail. All of the stolen property that was recovered was returned to the rightful owners.
