Merced Police is investigating a shooting that left two people wounded in Merced Tuesday Night.

Officers responded to the area of West 19th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way near downtown at around 10:30 P.m., for reports of shots fired in the area.

When officers arrived, they located a victim in a backyard and another in the alleyway between West 18th and 19th streets. The victims were taken by RIGGS ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say witnesses described two subjects running North on Martin Luther King Jr. Way after the shooting.

Police are reviewing video footage from the area to identify the suspects.

The identity of both victims remains unknown, no suspects have been located.
