Merced Applegate Park will be receiving a facelift

Applegate Park Zoo is getting a facelift at the end of this month.

The facelift will be done thanks to a generous donation made by Centurion & Supreme Boats of Merced.

The firm is donating money and volunteers for the work, some of whom will be coming all the way from Korea.

During construction, the Zoo will be closed to the public starting at noon on June 30th, 2019, and all day on July 1st, July 5th, and July 6th.

The Zoological Society will be offering some free activities to help occupy kids. Those will be in the Rossotti Ed-Zoo-Cation Center (behind the zoo, next to Kiddieland) from 10 a.m. to noon on July 6th.

The volunteers will be replacing large sections of the animal exhibit barrier fencing, replacing a bulletin board, adding a brand new bulletin board, and doing some touch-up painting.

They have purchased $4,400 worth of materials and will be donating all of the labor to complete the project.

They will be flying out 92 volunteers in two separate groups from Florida to complete several service projects in Merced and Winton.

They will send 30 of their volunteers to work on the Zoo project.

Centurion & Supreme Boats will join other Correct Craft sister companies next week (June 29th -July 7th) to the serve the Merced area.

35 employees from Correct Craft Company, Centurion & Supreme Boats will descend upon Merced to serve and do make-overs at the Applegate Park Zoo and also the Winton Lifeline Community Center.

Employee volunteers will paint, repair and replace railings and provide new signage to include a new bulletin board at the Main entrance of Applegate Zoo.

“Our team could not be more blessed than to serve in our own community and side by side with all of the other Correct Craft sister companies from around the world. We have representatives from Orlando to Seoul, Korea coming to love on Merced. I could not be more proud of our employees at Centurion & Supreme Boats who have taken their own personal time and vacation to serve at the Applegate Zoo and the Winton Lifeline Community Center,” said Paul Singer, President of Centurion & Supreme Boats.

Correct Craft recently acquired Centurion Boats in Merced.  Centurion & Supreme Boats of Merced is one of the fastest growing towboat builders in the world and has 185 employees.
