Chief Tom Cavallero had the pleasure of swearing in three new Police Officers today for the Merced Police Department.

Ashley Adame was born and raised in the East Los Angeles area. She has lived in Turlock for the last nine years and worked for Turlock Police Department for the last 3½ years as a dispatcher. She obtained her B.A. in Criminal Justice from Stan State. She graduated in March from the Fresno City College Police Academy.

Michael Olivas was born and raised in the Fresno area. He is married and has two kids. He previously worked security in Fresno at two hospitals and most recently worked for a law firm as an HR specialist. He has an A.S. in Business Administration. He graduated in March from the Fresno City College Police Academy.

Samuel Mora was born and raised in Merced. He was part of the first graduating class of El Capitan High School. He obtained his A.S. in Administration of Justice. He worked for San Bernardino Sheriff’s Office where he was a Deputy Sheriff for two years. He came back to Merced because he wanted to work in the community he grew up in.
