The Merced County Sheriff’s Coroner Office has identified the person who was found dead at a Merced County Park during the weekend.

Los Banos Police officers responded to the 1800 block of Scripps Road at around 9:56 a.m. Sunday for reports of a deceased male at the park.

When officers arrived, they located 19-year-old Lisandro Rosales deceased along the southwest portion of the park field.

Police say they received a call of shots fired in the parking lot of the park Saturday.

Officers responding to the call stopped a vehicle as it was driving to the Los Banos Memorial Hospital. Inside of the vehicle, an adult male was found with a gunshot wound to his body.

The male was uncooperative in providing information to officers and was admitted into the hospital in stable condition.
