CHP searching for hit-and-run driver who left a pedestrian with major injuries

The California Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian in Merced County.

CHP officers responded to the area of State Route 140 and Schilling Road at around 8:51 Tuesday night.

Authorities say they located a male adult with major injuries when they arrived.

CHP says a white truck was last seen heading Eastbound on Highway 140 towards Mariposa with the passenger side mirror missing.

The identification of the pedestrian was not immediately available.
