Man arrested by Merced Police after short chase

On April 20th, 2020, Officers with the Merced Police Department located a stolen pickup truck in the area of Rambler Road and College Green Drive.

Officers attempted to make an enforcement stop of the stolen truck and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed west on Rambler Road towards M Street.

The vehicle continued west on Rambler running the stop signs on M Street and R Street at over 50 MPH.

Officers canceled the pursuit for safety reasons, The vehicle was located shortly after on June Court which was a dead end.

The driver fled on foot but was quickly apprehended. He was identified as 34-year-old Charles Pullen.

Pullen was arrested for fleeing/evading police, possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of burglary tools. He was transported to jail however he was refused booking and therefore cited and released.
