On April 17, 2020, at approximately 1611 hours, Merced Police received a call regarding an assault that occurred, in the 300 block of West Main Street.

When officers arrived they located two victims. The victims were approached by three subjects 18-year-old Adrian Rodarte, 22-year-old Jose Lugo Jr and 20-year-old Ralph Chavarria, who started using gang slurs towards the victims.

The suspects then assaulted the victims causing injuries that required medical aid. During the assault the suspects took a cellphone belonging to one of the victims.

Officers located the suspects in the 1900 block of “K” Street. The suspects had blood on their clothing during the contact. Located with the suspects was the stolen cell phone.

The suspects were arrested for assault causing medical aid, robbery, gang association and the felony gang enhancement.

The suspects were booked into the Merced County Jail on the above mentioned charges.
