On April 14th,2020, at approximately 9:48 p.m., Merced Police officers responded to the area of East highway Highway 140 near East Santa Fe Drive for a vehicle versus a pedestrian collision.
Upon further investigation, officers said a 1997 GMC SUV was driving westbound on Highway 140 and a 2008 Toyota Scion XD was driving eastbound on Highway 140 when both vehicles struck a 39-year-old female who was in the middle of the highway pushing a shopping cart.
Both drivers remained at the scene and were cooperative with the investigation. Traffic Investigators are determining the cause of the collision.
Police say Drugs and alcohol were not a factor in this collision
