The California Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that left a woman dead.
Officers responded for reports of a crash on Northbound 99 just South of Shanks Road at around 8:10 Saturday night.
A 37-year-old woman was found ejected out of her vehicle after her vehicle overturned down an embankment.
Authorities say the woman was a 37-year-old from Turlock and was driving a White 2003 Nissan Altima for unknown reasons she made an unsafe turning movement to the right and lost control of the Nissan overturning down the embankment.
The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected, CHP public information officer said.
The driver came to rest at the bottom of the embankment and was pronounced deceased on scene. Alcohol or drugs is unknown at this time, the investigation is still ongoing. No other vehicles or parties were involved.
