The City of Merced Fire Department responded to a structure fire at approximately 2:05 P.m. in the area of West 20th and “G” streets.

Upon arrival, firefighters observed a fully engulfed two-story fourplex apartment building in the alley.

The fourplex was totally destroyed by the fire.

According to Deputy Chief Wilson, no injuries were reported.
