Merced Sheriff says three out of six escaped inmates have been arrested, $5,000 reward being offered

The Merced sheriff’s department says they have arrested three out of six escaped inmates.

Deputies say they arrested 22-year-old Edgar Ventura today around 3:27 p.m. in the City of Firebaugh without incident and was transported back to the Merced Sheriffs Department.

 

At around 8:30 pm, two more of the five outstanding Merced County Jail escapees, 22-year-old Fabian Cruz Roman and 21-year-old Andres Nunez Rodriguez, were apprehended without incident in the San Diego Area and are currently being transported back to the Merced County Sheriff’s Office.

Roman is currently in custody for Murder charges and Rodriguez is in custody for attempted murder charges.

Three of the escapees are still wanted by the Merced County Sheriff’s Office and A TIP LINE has been set up by the US Marshals Service and a reward of up to $5,000.00 per escapee is being offered for any information leading to the apprehension of these subjects.

BARRON, JORGE; 20-years-old, Hispanic Male Adult, 5’05” 140lbs, Black Hair, Brown Eyes, from Atwater, Ca– Current Charges – violation of probation

CORONADO, GABRIEL FRANCIS; 19-years-old, Hispanic Male Adult, 5’10”, 225lbs, Black Hair, Brown Eyes, from Atwater, Ca – Current Charges – attempted murder, shooting at an inhabited dwelling, participation in a criminal street gang, felon in possession of a firearm, violation of probation.

LEON, MANUEL ALLEN; 21-years-old, Hispanic Male Adult, 5’10” 165lbs, Black Hair, Brown Eyes, from Vallejo, California – Current Charges – assault with a firearm, shooting at an inhabited dwelling, evade peace officer – reckless driving, participation in a criminal street gang, carrying a loaded firearm.
