Man stabbed near 7-ELEVEN in Merced last night

Merced Police Officers were dispatched to Brimmer Road to investigate a report of a 27-year-old adult who had been stabbed by two unidentified suspects.

When officers arrived in the area to conduct the investigation, officers discovered that the victim had been transported to Mercy Community Hospital to receive medical treatment.

Officers responded to the hospital, when they arrived, they made contact with the victim who had a puncture wound to his back.

The victim reported that he was walking from his residence to the 7-11 Store located at 2255 East Gerard Avenue at approximately 8:00 p.m.

When he was walking in the vicinity of Brimmer Road and Ballantyne Drive, two unidentified male adults in their 20’s approached him and started hitting him.

Subsequently, during the attack, the victim was stabbed with an instrument in the back, the suspects then departed the area in a vehicle in an undetermined direction.

The victim returned home and was subsequently transported to Mercy Hospital for treatment to his stab wound.

Merced Police Department Investigators are investigating this incident and are asking citizens who witnessed the stabbing to contact the police department with the information and callers can remain anonymous.
