Burlington Store, plans to open in Merced

The abandoned Sears building located at 1011 West Olive Avenue at the Merced Mall, may soon be a future Burlington store.

The company who operates over 600 stores in 45 states sells discounted brand name shoes, clothing, baby furniture, accessories and more.

The company plans on opening several other locations worldwide according to their website.

In 2017 and 2018 alone, between new stores and remodel activity, Burlington added 189 Stores to the companies brand standard.

The planned new store and remodel activity for 2019 should translate to nearly 300 stores added to the brand standard between 2017 and 2019.

The company expects the significant majority of its stores to be in its brand standard within 5 years.

The company opened new stores at an average of 45,000 square feet in 2018, and a planned average of 41,500 square feet in 2019.

There is currently no date or time given on their opening day. Stay tuned.

  1. Merced has become such a low life town that just like other stores, they won’t stay either and why open up now in an old mall when we supposedly are getting a new one? I don’t believe either is happening. I was born here and I have seen a HUGE decline in Merced and many businesses come and go, some way too quickly. If it weren’t for my grandkids and son being here, I would have left. Such a trashy city. Why would any business want to come here unless your a Hispanic store? That’s mostly what mostly thrives here now.

    1. Sure merced has its problems but so does every other town city and state in the country so if you are so offended by merced and just have to spout off about what is wrong with it then like i said maybe its time for you to have a change of scenery and attitude as well.
